Every month we answer the same list of questions based on how things are currently going in our lives.
The questions are...
What am I eating?
I ate lunch with a couple of my students the other day on our school's Olympics Day.It was fun sitting with these guys, eating our lunch, and chatting about their day. These guys are so much fun. I'm so blessed to be their teacher.
What am I reminiscing about?
I'm reminiscing about all sorts of memories involving this pup, who sadly passed away the other day... I wrote all about her the other day, while processing through my thoughts and pain, after having just heard the news.
What am I loving?
I'm loving this letter board I brought back for my classroom. My students are too. One of my guys finished his classwork early the other day and asked if he could choose a new quote for our board. Once he chose one he liked, we chatted about what it meant (making sure he truly understood it). And then he got to work, setting it up on the letter board. I think he chose a great quote. Don't you?
What have I been up to?
We had our annual school-wide Olympics this past week. That Friday ends up being a long day for me, since I'm on duty all day with my crew. But it's so very worth it. The kids always have a blast!
What am I
Lately, I've been changing this prompt since there's nothing I'm really dreading. So instead, I'm going to answer...
What am I praying for?
I'm praying for friends and family dealing with all sorts of things, needing a touch from the Father... Ones with family members who are really sick and some with family members who have passed away, as well. Some with churches, searching for a new pastor. Some with pregnancies facing complications. Some with loved ones who have strayed from the Lord. Some facing major financial burdens. And so much more. I'm praying that in each of these situations, God's hand at work is clearly displayed. I'm praying that my friends, family, and co-workers can see the goodness of God in the middle of the good times and the times of suffering.
What am I working on?
Want to know a secret? I've always dreamed of writing a book. I have had a book idea in mind. And I've started it, deleted it, started it again, deleted it again, and so on and so on many different times. And while a few friends know about this daydream of mine, I haven't told too many people. Why? Mostly because I was scared I might never get it finished, thinking I'd be considered a failure if so. Well, I've finally started it again and even set little goals for myself on how much to ideally write in a certain amount of time. And I'll probably even write a blog post about this soon, if for no other reason than to give myself some accountability in keeping up with these goals I've set for myself.
Wish me luck :)

What am I excited about?
I'm excited about my plans for an upcoming unit on Poetry that I'll be teaching one of my guys. Poetry is something I love to teach. And I have lots of fun ideas planned and ready to share with my guy in the upcoming weeks. And if all goes according to plan, the unit will end with a presentation of poetry written by him, ready to share with a group of people of his choice.

What am I watching?
Since I'll have more time to do so (and no worries about staying up late/waking up early), I'm making plans to finally binge watch The Good Doctor over Spring Break in March/April. I know that's pretty far off to plan for. But still... I also know that I'm super far behind. But since we have 2 weeks out for Spring Break, I think I'll have plenty of time to catch myself up on the show.

What am I reading?
I'll be finishing reading this book this coming weekend, since I have a bit paper due next Tuesday, with it being the main source to be used in the paper. I've really enjoyed this class on teaching students with Dyslexia. I've learned so much throughout the course of the last 8 weeks. And this book is full of good info. I'm really glad it was one of the required readings.
What am I listening to?
A friend shared this song in our staff devotions the other morning, reminding us that in any situation, if we want to hear from God, we need to simply open His Word. He has said (written) so incredibly much to us. We just have to listen (read). It was such a needed message for me to hear, too.

What am I wearing?
I wear this comfy pair of shoes any time I can. They were $5 at Wal-Mart this past summer and by far, the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. They're not the prettiest. But aren't completely ugly. And they are closed-toe, so they're nice on these cool (low 70s) days we have. And they're comfy, too. So, yes... I do totally wear these any chance I can. :)
What am I doing this weekend?
My plan for Saturday is to work in my classroom all day and then go to our school's Senior Cafe (like a talent show) that night. And then my plan for Sunday is to go to church, go to a birthday party for a friend's son, and then come home and meal prep for the week. Then, I'm hoping to finally read a book I checked out from the school's library last week.

What am I looking forward to next month?

What else is new?
A while back, a friend gave me a bag of mint chocolate chips. So I added some of those to my batter last night, making the most amazingly delicious mint chocolate chip cookies the other night. And I quickly realized that these might just be my new favorite cookie. Y'all... They were so tasty!
And then each month, there's a special question. February's question is...
What is your favorite board game to play with your kids?
Since I don't have kids of my own, I thought I'd share what games I like playing with my students instead. And since my class LOVES game time, this was a perfect question for me to answer!
According to my students, their best games we play together are Guess Who, Rummikub, and Scrabble. And I like playing all of those games with them because they're all educational and fun at the same time. There are so many Grammar and Math skills that can be learned through these games. Not to mention, the valuable social skills lessons that they can learn from them as well...
** Side note - I cringe when a teacher says she doesn't have time in her schedule for games. Games can be so educational. And I truly believe if you'll make time for a little fun learning, kids will remember it better. Plus, look at the relationship building that can occur through game playing in the classroom. Seriously... This is something I definitely feel strongly about.
But, I digress. ;)
Anywho - That's what I'm up to this month.
What about you?
