Thoughts on a Monday

This past Wednesday, at a school in Florida, a clearly troubled individual brought a gun into a school, killing multiple people.

Students.

Teachers.

17 innocent lives were lost.

And almost immediately, it became political.

It's this person's fault.

No. It's this one's fault.

If this group had done such and such.

Or if this organization were better...

Do away with guns.

Keep guns.

Change this law.

Change that law.

Do this.

Do that.

And y'all...

While everyone was busy arguing...

There were (are) 17 families planning funerals and going through what I would assume is the hardest time in their lives.

There is a school full of students and staff whose lives are forever changed.

There is a community who is in shock.

There are teachers around the world looking at their classrooms a little differently, wondering where would be the safest hiding spot in the event of the unthinkable.

And yes...

Yes. Things need to change.

I do believe that we need to take Mental Health more seriously.

And no, I don't think we need to call for guns to be completely taken away.

But, I do believe we need better screening processes for people purchasing guns.

I think some kids need more love and attention, which I fully believe includes getting the discipline and correction they need as well.

Yes, action needs to take place.

But I also think our nation needs to turn back to God. I think we need hearts and minds to be changed and be tuned into our Savior.

Oh God, we need you.

Plain and simple.

We need God.
